Hosting terms & acceptable use
Last updated October 2, 2026
Your account
- Shared hosting gives you your own HestiaCP control panel. You manage your own websites, email, databases and content.
- Keep your password secure. You're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping the software you install (WordPress, plugins, etc.) up to date.
- Plan limits (storage, bandwidth, domains, email accounts, databases) are shown on the hosting page and enforced by the control panel.
Billing
- Plans renew automatically each month or year until canceled. Cancel anytime; service runs to the end of the period you've paid for.
- If a payment fails and isn't resolved within 15 days, the account may be suspended. Accounts suspended for 30 days may be deleted.
- Domain registrations, if purchased through us, are billed separately.
Acceptable use
You may not use the service to:
- Send spam or unsolicited bulk email, or host content promoted by spam.
- Host phishing, malware, illegal content, or anything that infringes others' copyrights or trademarks.
- Run cryptocurrency mining, open proxies, file-sharing or download mirrors, or anything that uses excessive server resources.
- Attempt to access other customers' accounts or attack other systems.
We may suspend accounts that violate these rules or put the server or other customers at risk, and will tell you why.
Backups & data
- We keep daily backups (number of copies depends on your plan) as a courtesy. Keep your own copies of important data too.
- Your content is yours. We don't access it except to provide support you request, or to investigate abuse.
Support
Help is available through our support site. Shared hosting support covers the server and control panel; building or fixing your website is available at our hourly rate.
